Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel chaired a high-level review meeting in the state capital to assess the progress of 21 high-priority infrastructure and development projects worth over ₹18,000 crore across nine key departments. He directed officials to ensure timely completion and uphold quality standards in all ongoing works to reinforce Gujarat’s image as a model of development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.

Accompanied by Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, Chief Advisor Dr. Hasmukh Adhia, and senior secretaries of the concerned departments, the Chief Minister reviewed major state and centrally supported projects across sectors such as ports, transport, roads, health, housing, and energy.

To facilitate effective monitoring, Patel proposed the formation of a high-level committee under the Chief Secretary’s chairmanship to conduct periodic reviews. He further instructed top officials to conduct regular field visits to assess on-ground progress and enhance coordination among departments, especially for projects involving central ministries and agencies.

In this review meeting, the Chief Minister primarily obtained details from the Industries, Ports, and Transport Department regarding the Deep-Sea Pipeline Projects for industries in Surat and Vapi, the Bhavnagar Brownfield Port Development, and the development of fishing harbours at Veraval, Sutrapada, and Madhwad.

Additionally, the widening and strengthening of the state’s highways and the construction of major bridges were discussed with officials from the Road Construction Department and the National Highways Authority of India, and the progress of these projects was reviewed.

The progress of the modern police training center, under construction at a cost of ₹500 crore at Khalal in Kheda district, was also reviewed. This campus is being developed to train over 2,500 police personnel.

The Chief Minister also obtained updates from the Health Principal Secretary on the construction of a new OPD at Surat New Civil Hospital and the 425-bed Civil Hospital to be built in Mansa, Gandhinagar. He provided directions to expedite both projects.

He further reviewed, along with the Urban Development Principal Secretary, the construction of 10,000 EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) housing units in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation area and the railway overbridge project at Talod between Dahegam and Himatnagar railway stations.

The Chief Minister also reviewed other key projects, including the AmulFed Dairy Plant in Gadhka, pipeline projects by the Water Resources Department, and power distribution infrastructure projects in Vadodara and Dahod districts.

Patel instructed all concerned secretaries to prioritize quality assurance in the execution of these high-priority projects.
