Una: In a terrifying encounter, a leopard attacked a 50-year-old farmer in the residential area of Amodra village near Una, located in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. The incident took place late yesterday evening when the wild animal, seemingly seeking shelter, entered the home of Rameshbhai Zalavadiya.*
The sequence of events unfolded when the leopard unexpectedly entered the house near Devlina Vadva area, causing panic. Rameshbhai’s wife, Dakshaben, was the first to notice the intruder and began shouting loudly to alert her husband. Her cries for help prompted Rameshbhai to rush to her aid, armed with a stick.
However, as he tried to fend off the leopard, the wild animal quickly moved towards the area where the family’s cows were tethered. Rameshbhai, in an effort to protect his livestock, continued to chase the animal, but it then made a quick escape, slipping into the kitchen of the house through a window.
At this point, the situation escalated. As Rameshbhai attempted to force the leopard out of the house with his stick, the animal attacked him. Fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening, but he was left shaken from the ordeal.
The forest department was alerted, and a team arrived at the scene soon after. Using a tranquilizer gun, they successfully subdued the leopard and transported it to the Jasadhar Animal Care Centre for further observation and care.
Local residents were left shaken by the rare and alarming incident, and the forest department has assured that they will continue to monitor the area closely to ensure the safety of both people and wildlife. DeshGujarat.
