Holy Shravan Month 2025 in Gujarat begins on July 25 and ends on August 23

Gandhinagar: The auspicious month of Shravan, as per the Gujarati Hindu Vikram Samvat calendar 2081, will begin on Friday, July 25, and end on Saturday, August 23. Some of the major festivals during this month include Janmashtami, Raksha Bandhan, Nag Panchami, and Shitala Satam. Additionally, the national holiday for Independence Day also falls during this period.
Shravan is considered a holy month dedicated to bhakti, puja, and the archana of Hindu deities. Mondays during Shravan are particularly significant. Devotees visit Shiv Mandirs in large numbers on these Shravan Somvars, offering milk and bilva leaves to the Shivling. Many also observe fasts, including the Farali vrat, where only fruits are consumed.
The Shravan Somvars fall on July 28, August 4, August 11, and August 18.
Nariyeli Poonam will be celebrated on August 8, and Raksha Bandhan on August 9.
Nag Panchami will be celebrated on August 13, followed by Randhan Chhath on August 14 and Shitala Satam on August 15.
Shri Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on August 16, followed by Nand Mahotsav on August 17.
Aja Ekadashi (Shravan Vad Agiyaras) falls on August 19.
Paryushan will begin on August 20 for some and on August 21 for others.
The festive season will continue after Shravan with Ganesh Chaturthi and Samvatsari on August 27, Anant Chaturdashi on September 6, Navratri from September 22, Vijaya Dashami (Dussehra) on October 2, Sharad Purnima on October 6, and more to follow. DeshGujarat
