IMD forecasts heavy rains in these parts of Gujarat during next 48 hours

Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for some districts in the state of Gujarat, with the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall.
As per the IMD’s bulletin, heavy to very heavy rain is very likely at isolated places in the Gujarat region, namely Sabarkantha, Aravalli, and Mahisagar.
Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall in Banaskantha, Mehsana, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Vadodara, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Amreli, and Bhavnagar during the next 12 hours, till 8:30 am on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, only three districts—Sabarkantha, Aravalli, and Mahisagar—are likely to receive heavy rainfall, while the rest of the state is expected to receive light to moderate rain.
The bulletin also stated that till July 20, widespread light to moderate rainfall is likely in all districts of Gujarat.
As per the synoptic situation, a well-marked low-pressure area over northeast Rajasthan and adjoining northwest Madhya Pradesh persisted over the same region at 11:30 AM IST on July 14, 2025. The associated upper-air cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards across Rajasthan during the next two days.
