Gotri-Sevasi-Sindhrot Road in Vadodara Gets ₹28 Crore White Topping Upgrade
July 16, 2025
Vadodara: As part of an infrastructure upgrade, a six-kilometre stretch of the Gotri-Sevasi-Sindhrot Road connecting Vadodara and Anand districts has been reconstructed using white topping technology at an estimated cost of ₹28 crore. This effort aims to ensure long-term durability and smoother travel, especially during the monsoon season.
This road stretch had been prone to waterlogging due to its geographical location and used to suffer frequent deterioration every monsoon. To address this issue, 5.95 km of the total 7.4 km length has now been redeveloped using white topping, which involves laying a layer of concrete over the existing asphalt surface. This approach not only increases the road’s lifespan—typically up to 20 years—but also significantly reduces the likelihood of potholes compared to traditional resurfacing methods.
Notably, the newly constructed 5.95 km stretch of the Gotri-Sevasi-Sindhrot Road has not developed any potholes this monsoon and remains fully operational, ensuring hassle-free movement for commuters.
About White Topping Technology:
-
Applied directly over existing asphalt roads
-
More cost-effective than building new RCC roads
-
Offers better durability than regular asphalt resurfacing
-
Minimises patchwork and pothole issues
-
Expected lifespan of around 20 years
