Ahmedabad General Post Office to remain closed on July 21
July 19, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Department of Posts has announced the rollout of its next-generation APT application, marking a significant step towards modernising postal services across the country. The upgraded system is set to be implemented at post offices nationwide on July 21, 2025, including the General Post Office in Ahmedabad.
To ensure a seamless and secure transition to the new digital platform, a planned downtime has been scheduled for July 21. On that day, no public transactions will be carried out at General Post Offices. According to an official statement, this temporary suspension is essential to facilitate data migration, system validation, and configuration, paving the way for the new system to go live smoothly.
The APT application promises an enhanced user experience, quicker service delivery, and a more customer-friendly interface, reflecting the department’s commitment to smarter, efficient, and future-ready postal operations, the statement added.
The Department of Posts has requested customers to plan their visits accordingly and cooperate during this brief service interruption. DeshGujarat
