Portion of SG Highway in Ahmedabad to shut for 6 months; diversion announced

Ahmedabad: Due to the ongoing construction of an elevated corridor (flyover) between Karnavati Club and YMCA Club on the SG Highway by the National Highway Division (Ahmedabad), the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner has issued a notification regarding traffic diversions in the area.

As part of this project, bridge pillars have already been prepared, and girders will now be installed over them. This work will continue round the clock for the next six months. Due to this, a stretch of approximately 100 meters on the SG Highway, from Karnavati Club towards YMCA Club, will remain closed for six months.

As per the alternative route, traffic — including light and heavy vehicles coming from Sanand and Sarkhej towards YMCA Club — will need to turn left near YMCA Club, then turn right from Bhagwan Circle, proceed via Jhaveri Circle (Chakri Circle), turn right again at Karnavati Club, and rejoin the SG Highway towards various destinations. Additionally, the road from Iskcon towards Sarkhej will remain open for vehicular movement.

All citizens are advised to take note of these changes, as mentioned in a press release by the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Ahmedabad City. DeshGujarat
