Gandhinagar: The state government has cleared investment proposals worth ₹1,086.86 crore from 15 major industrial units that are expected to create around 3,697 new jobs in Gujarat. The approvals were granted during a meeting of the committee on final eligibility certificates, chaired by Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput in Gandhinagar.
Providing details, Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput said Gujarat continues to attract significant investments thanks to its industry-friendly policies. “Guided by the vision of making Gujarat a beacon of development, the state government had introduced the ‘Incentive to Industries Scheme’ under the Industrial Policy-2015, offering net SGST assistance to industries investing in the state,” he added.
Under this scheme, the newly approved projects span multiple sectors: auto and plastic industries in Ahmedabad district (₹459.54 crore), the auto sector in Panchmahal (₹237.48 crore), the plastic sector in Patan (₹56.97 crore), the auto sector in Mehsana (₹46.33 crore), the ceramic sector in Morbi (₹62.51 crore), and auto and metal industries in Vadodara district (₹224.03 crore).
Rajput further noted that, to date, the ‘Incentive to Industries Scheme’ has facilitated investments of over ₹1,48,000 crore, leading to the creation of more than 1.65 lakh direct jobs in the state. “These investments have also given momentum to small and medium-scale ancillary industries in the MSME sector, helping build a robust industry-friendly ecosystem,” he said.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department Dr. Jayanti Ravi, Principal Secretary of the Forest and Environment Department Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary of Economic Affairs Aarti Kanwar, Industries Commissioner P. Swaroop, and other senior officials. DeshGujarat
