Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has sealed three box cricket facilities in the city’s Rander zone after they continued operations despite repeated notices. Furthermore, unauthorized sheds had also been constructed on the premises.

The civic body has recently intensified action against unauthorized box cricket facilities across Surat, alongside its ongoing drive against illegal constructions. Just a few days ago, similar action was taken in the Katargam zone, where several box cricket centres running without permits were sealed.

In Wednesday’s drive by the Rander zone team, Ubuntu Cricket Academy in Adajan, DISSOTO Turf Box in Rander, and R.I.G. Cricket Box were sealed. Officials stated that despite being served notices earlier, the operators continued to run these centres without obtaining mandatory approvals.

The civic authorities stressed that these steps are part of an ongoing campaign to ensure compliance with municipal regulations and to curb unauthorized activities in the city. DeshGujarat
