Surat: The crackdown against illegal box cricket facilities is continuing in the city. On Friday, the Surat Municipal Corporation sealed two such box cricket facilities operating without permission in the Varachha zone.

The civic body has begun action against box cricket centers running without municipal approval in various areas. Earlier, action had been taken against more than 10 box cricket arenas in the Rander zone. Following that, similar action was carried out at two locations in the Varachha-A zone: the KBC Cricket Box in Block 102 under Dr. TP Scheme 60 (Puna) and the Madhuli Box Cricket in Block No. 187, both of which were sealed.

Permission had not been obtained from the municipality for the temporary structures at either site. The municipality had earlier issued notices to both operators, but despite the warnings, they continued to operate without permission. As a result, the civic body took action on Friday. DeshGujarat
