August 04, 2025
Bharuch: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel today laid the foundation stone for upgrading and four-laning the 46 km Amod–Roza–Tankaria–Muler road at an estimated cost of ₹400 crore. Once expanded, this road will make it easier for vehicles from the Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway to access Dahej, helping ease traffic congestion.
At the “Development Utsav” organised by the Bharuch district administration, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid foundations for 34 development projects worth a total of ₹637 crore in a single day.
These projects include works worth ₹576 crore aimed at improving road connectivity and quality. The district also received new projects for primary health centres, taluka-level sports complexes, additional school classrooms, and underground drainage systems.
Addressing the event, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that these initiatives would enhance residents’ ease of living. He noted that the Prime Minister has taken steps to strengthen every sector of the GDP and, to boost local manufacturing and self-reliance, has advocated for “Vocal for Local” to promote greater use of indigenous products.
Highlighting the region’s growth, he remarked that under the Prime Minister’s two-and-a-half decades of leadership, Gujarat’s development has doubled in pace. The entire area spanning Bharuch–Ankleshwar–Jhagadia–Dahej has been developed into industrial hubs by the double-engine government. As a result, Bharuch is now recognised as India’s chemical capital, providing employment to people from across the country.
The Chief Minister also pointed to major projects—including the Bulk Drug Park in Jambusar, Dahej PCPIR, LNG Terminal, Tribal Industrial Park in Valia, and Sea Food Park—that have further accelerated Bharuch’s economic and industrial growth.
He added that, under the guidance of NITI Aayog, Bharuch has been included in the emerging Surat Economic Region, where new efforts to boost industry, tourism, road networks, and infrastructure are set to begin.
During the event, the Chief Minister and other dignitaries distributed benefits worth ₹51 lakh: to three beneficiaries from the agriculture department, two from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and two from Mission Mangalam. Additionally, PMJAY cards providing cashless treatment up to ₹5 lakh were handed over to three beneficiaries. DeshGujarat
