Gandhinagar cop rescues two from drowning in Narmada Canal

Gandhinagar: A policeman on duty at Infocity Police Station in Gandhinagar district took swift action after spotting a young man and a girl jumping into the Narmada Canal this afternoon in an attempt to commit suicide. Without hesitation, he jumped into the canal and, with the help of local residents, saved both of them.
The incident occurred near Nabhoi Canal on Koba–Indira Bridge Road in the Infocity Police Station area, where ASI Vishnubhai Naranbhai was deployed. Around 1:30 pm, he noticed the duo jumping into the canal. Realizing the gravity of the situation, he immediately jumped in to rescue them. Local people also rushed to assist, and together they pulled both youths out safely.
The rescued youths were later taken to Jeevan Aastha Kendra in Gandhinagar, where they were counselled before being handed over to their families. Minister of State for Home Affairs Harsh Sanghvi congratulated ASI Vishnubhai for his courageous and exemplary act, calling it a shining example of humanity and dedication to duty within the police force.
