Chandigarh: Chandigarh, the Union Territory, also known as the City Beautiful, will be developed as a National Service Industry Centre on the lines of Gujarat’s GIFT City, stated the UT administrator Gulab Chand Kataria in his Independence Day address on Friday. GIFT City (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City) is a smart city designed to attract fintech companies and global trading institutions, positioning India as a competitor to hubs like Dubai, Singapore, and London.

In Chandigarh, the vision is to create a hub of modern infrastructure, efficient governance, and strong economic regulations.
