UPto 2.12 inch rain in Ahmedabad city in 24 hours; here are ward areas wise details

Ahmedabad: The city witnessed moderate to heavy showers on Sunday morning, with several areas recording significant rainfall between 6 am and 1 pm, according to data released by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC).

The highest rainfall was reported in 24 hours period ending at 6 am in Ranip, which recorded 54 mm (2.12 inches) of rain during the period. Close behind were Sardarnagar (50.5 mm / 1.99 inches), Kotarpur (45 mm / 1.77 inches), Bakrol (45.5 mm / 1.79 inches), and Naroda (44 mm / 1.73 inches).

Other areas such as Thaltej (44.5 mm / 1.75 inches), Chandlodiya (41.5 mm / 1.63 inches), and Hanspura (40.5 mm / 1.59 inches) also received heavy downpours. Central city locations like Usmanpura (35.5 mm / 1.40 inches) and Motera (34.5 mm / 1.36 inches) saw moderate spells of rain.

Overall, the city’s average rainfall stood at 28.4 mm (1.12 inches) in 24-hour window.

According to AMC’s control room, the seasonal total rainfall for Ahmedabad has reached 816.68 mm (32.16 inches) so far, with water levels in the Vasna Barrage being closely monitored as 25 gates of the Sant Sarovar River Canal remain partially open to manage inflow and outflow. DeshGujarat
