September 03, 2025
Gandhinagar: The seventh session of the 15th Gujarat Legislative Assembly will be held from September 8 to 10, 2025. Spokesperson Minister Rushikesh Patel said the session will begin on September 8 with question hour, followed by a day-long discussion on condolence motions, after which the House will be adjourned. On September 9 and 10, apart from question hour and other business, five bills will be tabled in the Assembly. Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel will also move a congratulatory motion on the success of Operation Sindoor.
The five bills to be introduced include the Factories (Gujarat Amendment) Bill, 2025 by the Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department; the Gujarat Goods and Services Tax (Second Amendment) Bill, 2025 by the Finance Department; the Gujarat Public Trust (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025 by the Industries and Mines Department; and the Gujarat Medical Practitioners (Amendment) Bill, 2025 along with the Gujarat Medical Institutions (Registration and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill, 2025 by the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Patel said the Factories (Gujarat Amendment) Bill seeks to convert an existing ordinance into law to promote industrial investment and employment by revising provisions on working hours and strengthening worker safety, especially for women employees. Similarly, the GST Amendment Bill aims to align Gujarat’s GST law with the Central GST Act, based on GST Council recommendations.
In addition, the state government is preparing steps such as simplification, digitization and rationalization of legal regulations to restructure business processes in industries and improve ease of living. Under this, the government will introduce the Gujarat Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2025 to simplify compliance, support businesses, and reduce the burden of cases on courts.
Furthermore, the Medical Practitioners Amendment Bill proposes renaming the regulatory body for Ayurvedic and Unani practitioners from “Board” to “Council” in line with central government instructions. The Medical Institutions (Registration and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill, 2025 seeks to grant clinical establishments more time for mandatory registration under the Gujarat Clinical Establishments Act, 2021.
