Gujarat gets widespread rain on Saturday; 40 talukas get over one-inch downpour

Gandhinagar: Several districts of Gujarat experienced significant rainfall till 8 pm today, with Dhansura receiving over an inch of rain in just 2 hours from 4 to 6 pm, according to the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC).
As per the data from 6 am to 8 pm, Dhansura taluka in Arvalli district recorded the highest rainfall of 111 mm (4.37 inches), followed by Dehgam in Gandhinagar (2.83 inches), Dharampur in Valsad (2.76 inches), Kadana in Mahisagar (2.68 inches), and Songadh in Tapi (2.52 inches).
In the Saurashtra region, Visavadar in Junagadh reported 2.4 inches, while Sutrapada in Gir Somnath recorded 2.09 inches. Vadodara’s Sinor taluka saw 2.28 inches of rainfall, causing waterlogging in low-lying areas. Several other talukas in Surat, Narmada, Navsari, and Mahisagar districts received more than 1.5 inches of rainfall.
The SEOC also reported lighter showers in Ahmedabad, Anand, Kheda, Panchmahals, and Rajkot, ranging from 1 mm to 17 mm in various talukas. The rain was recorded in 135 talukas as of 8 pm today, with 42 talukas receiving over an inch of rain.
Officials have advised residents to remain cautious in low-lying areas prone to waterlogging and to follow updates from local authorities, as more rainfall is expected in some districts over the next three days. DeshGujarat
