AMC resumes Birth and Death Registration/Correction Services
September 10, 2025
Ahmedabad: From September 1, 2025, registration for birth and death certificates in Gujarat has been shifted to the Government of India’s Civil Registration System (CRS) portal. Due to the switchover of the E-Olakh software to the CRS portal, the process of entering or correcting names in certificates for the period January 1, 2020, to August 31, 2025, had been temporarily suspended. This work has now resumed as per the normal procedure, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) announced today.
Furthermore, birth and death certificates registered after September 1, 2025, can be obtained from the respective ward’s Birth-Death Ward Office or from the hospital where the birth or death occurred. Efforts are ongoing in coordination with the state government to ensure that these certificates are also made available through the City Civic Centre, a press note from the City Civic Department said.
Copies of birth and death certificates registered up to August 31, 2025, can continue to be obtained from the City Civic Centre. DeshGujarat
