Kandla – Mumbai SpiceJet Flight Loses Wheel, Lands Safely in Mumbai
September 12, 2025
Mumbai: Mumbai airport operations were briefly disrupted on Thursday after a SpiceJet aircraft lost a wheel during take-off from Kandla, Gujarat.
The Q400 turboprop, operating the Kandla–Mumbai route, continued its flight and landed safely. Officials at Kandla airport found an outer wheel on the runway soon after the aircraft’s departure, prompting Mumbai authorities to declare an emergency as a precaution. Departures were temporarily affected before normal operations resumed.
“All passengers disembarked safely, and the aircraft taxied to the terminal on its own after a smooth landing,” a SpiceJet spokesperson confirmed.
While aviation authorities stressed that passengers were not in danger, the incident has reignited concerns about flight safety. DeshGujarat
