Bhavnagar: A video has gone viral in which around a dozen villagers of Talgajarda village can be seen asking a Swaminarayan saint not to visit the village. The incident is believed two days old. Talgajarda village is located near Mahuva in Bhavnagar district of Saurashtra region. Talgajarda is famous for having headquarters of Ram kathakar Morari Bapu who has number of times criticized Swaminarayan sect for its alleged tactics to show the main Hindu Gods inferior to Sajahanand Swami (Swaminarayan Bhagwan).

In a viral video a Swaminarayan saint can be seen sitting in car and conversing with villagers who protest his entry in the village. The villagers argue that they have faith in Hindu Sanatan Gods and therefore Swaminarayan saint should not pay visit (for proselytization activities). The villagers mention some previous offending remarks made by several Swaminarayan saint about Hindu Gods. The villagers are seen saying Swaminarayan saint that he should visit Swaminarayan temple located in the village and his visit in the village should be limited to that place only. When Swaminarayan saint said that he is coming in village on invitation of a local family, the protestors told Swaminarayan saint that the meeting with local family should take place only in a local Swaminarayan mandir in the village.

It is not known whether the Swaminarayan saint continued his village visit or drop the plans. The video has gone viral, as the village is native of Morari Bapu who has time and again criticized Swaminarayan sect for various remarks and tactics adopted by some Swaminarayan saint in recent past. Morari Bapu believes that Swaminarayan saints don’t visit temples of Hindu Gods and they also ask their staunch followers to believe Sahajanand Swami as supreme God. Morari Bapu has observed that top Hindu Gods are often shown inferior to Sahajanand Swami who happened around two hundred years ago only, and who was himself a bhakta of Shri Hanumanji and Shri Narayana (Vishnu).

Some saints have however taken a line that in the name of Swaminarayan vs Sanatana, the Hindu society must not be allowed to divide, especially when it has other major challenged from outside. Kutch based Yogi Devnath Bapu opined that Hindu society must stay alert against any division within. However Vadodara based Jyotirnath Bapu favored the villagers who stopped Swaminarayan saint and applauded their service to Sanatana faith.
