Rahul Gandhi’s Gujarat Visit Postponed
September 18, 2025
Junagadh: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has postponed his scheduled visit to Gujarat due to inclement weather in Delhi. The trip, which was scheduled to take place today, is now likely to happen tomorrow instead.
The visit was to be Gandhi’s second to the state within a week, during which he was to preside over the second phase of the training programme for newly appointed District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan in Junagadh.
Gandhi had earlier attended the 10-day training session in Junagadh starting September 12, after it was inaugurated by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge at Prerna Dham Ashram on September 10. This is the second and longest training camp organized under the party’s Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan.
The first three-day session was held in Anand last month, making Thursday’s visit Gandhi’s seventh to Gujarat in the past six months.
According to the now-cancelled schedule, Gandhi was expected to land at Keshod Airport around 1 pm. If the visit takes place on Friday, he will be distributing performance report cards to the DCC presidents. Experts at the camp are training the newly appointed leaders to prepare strategic plans and a vision for Gujarat.
The initiative aims to empower DCC presidents to strengthen the party at the grassroots level through consistent public engagement and cadre building. With Gujarat being a key focus, the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan was launched in the state in April, and similar training sessions are planned in other states in the future, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Chavda said.
