Gujarat govt notifies 17 new talukas; here is complete list of villages in these talukas

Gandhinagar: The Council of Ministers of Gujarat on Wednesday approved the creation of 17 new talukas in the state by bifurcating 21 existing talukas. Following the approval, the Revenue Department, Government of Gujarat, today issued an official gazette notification detailing the formation of each of these talukas.

The notification, issued under the Gujarat Land Revenue Code, 1879, states that the new talukas will come into effect from 2nd October 2025. The newly formed talukas include Codhar, Kothamba, Chikda, Nanapodha, Rah, Dharnidhar, Ogad, Hadad, Curu Covind Limbal, Sukhsar, Kadval, Fagvel, Shamiaji, Sathamba, Ukal, Areth, and Ambika.

The gazette notification also specifies which villages will comprise each of these new talukas, providing a detailed framework for administration and governance. State Government spokesperson Rushikesh Patel said the government has approved the creation of these 17 new talukas with a citizen-centric approach. Administrative decentralization will make district- and taluka-level offices more accessible to the public, enhancing services across social, economic, health, and educational sectors. Moreover, residents of remote villages will save time, effort, and money when visiting taluka headquarters.
