Shankar Chaudhary Re-Elected Unopposed as Banas Dairy Chairman for Third Consecutive Term

Palanpur: Gujarat Assembly Speaker and Tharad MLA Shankar Chaudhary has been re-elected unopposed as the Chairman of Banas Dairy for the third consecutive term. The Board of Directors also unanimously chose Bhava Rabari as the Vice Chairman. Both leaders will continue in their respective positions for the next two and a half years.

15 of 16 Seats Elected Unopposed

In the latest elections to the Board of Directors of Banas Dairy, 15 out of 16 seats were decided unopposed. The only contest took place for the Danta seat, where five candidates had initially filed nominations. After withdrawals, three candidates remained in the fray.

Following the BJP’s announcement of Amaratji Parmar as its official candidate, one more contender stepped aside in his support. The final election was held between Parmar and Dilip Singh Barad, in which Parmar emerged victorious.

A Decade of Leadership

Shankar Chaudhary has now led Banas Dairy for 10 years, continuing a legacy of strong leadership. The dairy, one of Asia’s largest, was founded by the late Galbabhai Nanji Patel. After him, the chairmanship passed to Dalumbhai Desai, followed by Paritbhai Bhatol, who served for 22 years.

Under Chaudhary’s tenure, Banas Dairy has expanded its operations and established itself as a major cooperative success story in Gujarat’s dairy sector. The Board currently comprises 16 directors, including the chairman.
