PM Modi to inaugurate, lay foundation for ₹800 crore projects during his visit to Ekta Nagar

Ekta Nagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Ekta Nagar on October 30 and 31 as the Statue of Unity prepares to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. During his two-day visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for projects worth around ₹800 crore, introducing 16 new attractions and facilities in the Statue of Unity area.

₹282.52-Crore Projects to Be Inaugurated

On October 30, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate 16 new projects and facilities worth ₹282.52 crore in the Statue of Unity complex. Major works include the Walkway (Phase 2) from Ekta Dwar to the Narmada Mata statue, Smart Bus Stop (Phase 2), Bonsai Garden (near Cactus Garden), E-bus charging station, Narmada Ghat parking area, new residential quarters, approach road near Mokhadi, Kaushalya Path, approach road to Limdi Tent City, garden expansion near Tata Narmada Ghat, dam replica, and the launch of 25 new mini e-buses.

These infrastructure additions are expected to enhance the overall tourist experience and improve connectivity within the Statue of Unity zone.

Foundation Stones for ₹681.55-Crore Projects

Prime Minister Modi will also perform the bhoomi pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for new projects worth ₹681.55 crore. Key among them is the Veer Bal Udyan, a ₹9-crore memorial park that will showcase stories of legendary child heroes from Indian mythology and history, set in a forest-like landscape.

Another major attraction will be the Museum of Royal Kingdoms of India (MORKI), which will highlight the contributions of various Indian rulers who played pivotal roles in unifying the nation. The museum will be built at a cost of ₹367.25 crore and is expected to be completed by May 2027.

Additionally, a Gujarat Vandana Museum and a Visitor Centre worth ₹100 crore will be developed, along with a Sports Complex costing ₹20 crore.

Furthermore, a Rainforest Zone will be developed near Vagadia over 47,000 sq. metres, complete with waterfalls, rain guns, and a walk bridge to enhance eco-tourism.

Together, these developments, valued at over ₹800 crore, are expected to significantly boost tourism, infrastructure, and visitor amenities in the Statue of Unity region, making Ekta Nagar one of India’s most advanced integrated tourist destinations. DeshGujarat
