Surat Metro Project: 96% Work Complete on Majura Gate – Dream City Route of Corridor-1
November 05, 2025
Surat: Work on the Surat Metro Rail Project is progressing, and as part of this, the viaduct construction between Dream City and Althan has been completed. Out of the total 8 km stretch, 7.2 km of track has already been laid.
The city’s metro network is divided into two corridors. 21.61 km long Corridor-1 will run from Sarthan to Dream City, while 18.74 km long Corridor-2 will connect Bhensan to Saroli. Officials have stated that a major portion of work on both corridors has already been completed.
Notably, 96% of the work between Majura Gate and Dream City, part of Corridor-1, has been completed, with the remaining work expected to be finished soon. This indicates that the first train could run on this route, connecting Dream City to Althan Metro Station.
Meanwhile, due to ongoing metro work, the Majuragate flyover will be closed daily from 11 pm to 6 am until December 23. Recently, a girder was placed on the route from Nanpura towards the Income Tax Department road at Majuragate, and slab-laying work on the girder will begin shortly.
For safety, the Majuragate flyover will remain closed on both sides from 11 pm to 6 am between November 3 and December 23–25. During this period, motorists will not be able to use the overbridge. DeshGujarat
