Ahmedabad: A deadly accident occurred early this morning at the Thaltej underpass on the busy SG Highway after a car rammed into a stationary truck parked in the middle of the road.

According to the police, the crash took place around 5:30 a.m. when a Kia car traveling toward Iscon Cross Road collided with a stationary Eicher truck from behind. The impact was so powerful that the car’s front portion was completely damaged, and the driver suffered critical injuries on the spot. The injured driver, 23-year-old Aryan Batra, was rushed to Sola Civil Hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment. His two female friends, who were traveling with him, sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at Sola Civil Hospital. The deceased’s body has been sent for post-mortem and will be handed over to the family after formalities.

Following the collision, the truck driver reportedly fled the scene. Initial reports suggest the car was traveling at high speed and that the driver may have lost control before colliding with the truck, which had reportedly broken down in the middle of the road. Investigators are probing the exact cause of the accident. Traffic police have registered a case, questioned witnesses, seized nearby CCTV footage, and are conducting further inquiries.
