November 13, 2025
Surat: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Surat Sub-Zonal Office, has attached immovable properties worth Rs. 81 lakh under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with an illegal online betting scam case, an official statement said.
ED initiated the investigation based on an FIR registered by D.C.B Police Station, Surat, against Kamlesh Jariwala and others under various sections of the IPC, 1860, for cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy for illegal financial enrichment.
During the PMLA investigation, it was found that Amit Majithia, in connivance with others, had been running betting websites M/s CBTF247.COM and T20EXCHANGE.COM. These websites lured youths in particular, and the public in general, by providing online platforms for gambling in various live games like poker, teenpatti, and casino, as well as illegal betting facilities for sports such as cricket, football, badminton, tennis, and hockey. Further, Amit Majithia, in connivance with others, layered the proceeds of crime (POC) generated through these illegal betting activities using multiple bank accounts opened in the names of fake firms.
It was also found that he made his wife an 85% partner in M/s BCC Music Factory, Noida, which was used to launder POC. Consequently, searches were conducted on 10/07/2025 in Noida, resulting in the seizure of incriminating documents, digital devices, and unaccounted cash of Rs. 30 lakh, along with Rs. 25 lakh in multiple bank accounts. Further investigation revealed that Amit Majithia purchased immovable property in the name of his wife, Mrs. Rohini Majithia, using POC generated through his illegal online betting apps M/s CBTF247.COM and T20EXCHANGE.COM.
Further investigation is ongoing, the law enforcement agency said. DeshGujarat
