Whether you are a tourist arriving from outside India or a visitor travelling from another state, you can now register digitally, upload the required documents, verify your identity through SMS and email, and complete the payment—all before visiting the liquor shop for final verification. This step-by-step guide, shared by a five-star hotel authorized to sell alcohol to valid permit holders, explains how to smoothly complete your Gujarat liquor permit application and avoid common errors, ensuring a hassle-free experience during your stay.
LIQUOR PERMIT PROCESS
START PROCESS
1. Login to E-permit
2. https://eps.gujarat.gov.in/
• Online registration
3. Select tourist or visitor
(Tourist is out of India) (Visitor is out of Gujarat)
4. Fill up basic details
5. SMS & email verification
6. Upload residence & age documents (less than 200kb)
• Residence proof out of Gujarat – front & back
• Age proof out of Gujarat – front & back
7. Upload travel, temporary residence & stay documents
• Travel proof (Airline boarding pass/confirmed train ticket in PDF format – within four days from arrival date)
• Temporary residence proof of Gujarat (any one)
• Front & back (only govt.-approved proof valid)
Hotel stay certificate
OR
Local recent electricity bill within last three months (person needs to be present)
OR
Voter ID/Driving License/Passport – issued in the city (person needs to be present)
8. Permit should be procured & verified at the liquor shop within four days of arrival
9. Make online payment through payment gateway for permit – INR 100
10. Print E-Permit
11. Get print of E-Permit and proceed to liquor shop for physical verification with all physical original documents.

12. Physical verification of all documents will be done at the liquor shop desk and stamped by the authorized person.
NB: Aadhaar Card is not a valid proof for liquor permit as per recent law passed by Prohibition & Excise Department.
