Gujarat Weather Report: Nights turning nippy in Saurashtra; Rajkot coldest among major cities at 13.2°C

Ahmedabad: Winter chill continues subtly in Gujarat as several cities saw a notable drop in minimum temperatures on Monday. According to the Indian Meteorological Department’s (IMD) weather report this morning, several Saurashtrian districts witnessed colder-than-normal nights, with Rajkot emerging as the coldest among the major cities of the state at 13.2°C, registering a departure of –4.0°C from normal.
Porbandar followed with a sharp decline, recording 14.3°C, which is 3.6°C below normal, while Naliya (mostly always the coldest town in the state) reported 11.6°C, 2.9°C below normal, marking some of the most significant dips of the day. Deesa also recorded a low 14.6°C, consistent with the normal minimum for the season.
The minimum temperature in Ahmedabad stood at 16.0°C, maintaining normal conditions. Gandhinagar recorded 15.5°C, marginally 0.6°C below normal, indicating a noticeable overnight chill. Vadodara, after a chilly last week, has started this week with a moderate 18°C nighttime temperature, and Surat is also witnessing nearly normal temperature at 19.1°C.
In Kandla, the minimum reached 16.6°C, 2.3°C below normal, while Amreli saw 13.0°C, 2.8°C below normal, pointing to early winter intensification in Saurashtra.
Coastal belts experienced milder temperatures, with Dwarka at 19.4°C (–1.1°C), Diu at 18.0°C (+1.5°C), Okha at 21.6°C (–1.5°C), and Veraval at 18.8°C (–1.3°C).
No rainfall was reported in any part of the state, and relative humidity varied between 56% and 93% in the morning across districts, gradually dipping by evening.
Weather officials indicate that minimum temperatures are expected to continue dropping steadily over the coming days as northerly winds strengthen across the region. Citizens have been advised to take precautionary winter measures, especially during early morning and late-night hours. DeshGujarat
