November 27, 2025
Gandhinagar: A rise in minimum temperatures continued across Gujarat on Wednesday night, with several major cities reporting nighttime mercury levels above 20°C. According to data issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), warmer night conditions prevailed particularly in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bhavnagar, Surat and the coastal belt areas.
Ahmedabad registered a minimum temperature of 20.8°C, nearly 6°C above normal, while Vadodara and Bhavnagar reported 20.8°C and 20.6°C, respectively. Surat was among the warmest locations during the night with a minimum of 21°C, almost 3°C above normal. Daman also recorded a higher minimum at 21.4°C.
Meanwhile, daytime temperatures across Gujarat remained within the normal range on Wednesday. The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Dang at 33.2°C, followed closely by Rajkot (32.9°C) and Vadodara (32.8°C). The lowest maximum was reported from Jamnagar at 28.5°C. Most other cities, including Ahmedabad, Surat and Bhavnagar, hovered around the 30–32°C mark, indicating mild daytime conditions. No rainfall was recorded at any station in the state.
Weather experts noted that despite cooler maximum temperatures observed a day earlier, the elevated nighttime temperatures indicate a short-term warming trend across parts of the state. Humidity levels remained moderate to high in most districts, with Surat reporting the highest morning relative humidity at 90%. No rainfall was recorded anywhere in Gujarat.
Experts said the warmer nights could be attributed to changing wind patterns and increased moisture in the atmosphere, especially in southern Gujarat and coastal regions. DeshGujarat
