December 01, 2025
Gir Somnath: The Police Inspector (PI) of Prabhas Patan Police Station has been suspended by the District Police Chief over alleged misconduct. Inspector M.V. Patel reportedly went on leave from duty without proper authorization. He had initially requested leave for his nephew’s wedding, but when sufficient leave was not approved, he reportedly went on sick leave without permission.
Owing to this indiscipline, District Superintendent of Police Jaideepsinh Jadeja suspended PI M.V. Patel with immediate effect. The suspension has created a stir across the police force in the district.
The unauthorized leave occurred during a critical period, the Kartik Purnima Fair in Somnath. The five-day fair attracts thousands of devotees, and the inspector’s absence without approval during this busy time prompted the departmental action. DeshGujarat
