Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sealed multiple educational units in the South West Zone for operating without the mandatory usage permission and for failing to regularize their construction under the Gujarat Regularization of Unauthorized Development Act, 2022 (GRUDA).

According to officials, notices had earlier been issued to these institutions, directing them to obtain usage permission as required by rules and to regularize their construction. However, despite repeated verbal instructions, none of the units submitted official documents or evidence showing compliance. As these institutions continued to operate without fulfilling legal requirements, the civic body initiated action in the interest of public safety.

On 9 December 2025, the following educational units were sealed:

• Kidzi Pre-School, Gala Gymkhana Road, Bopal (20-Jodhpur)

• Ancient Sprout, Gala Gymkhana Road, Bopal (20-Jodhpur)

• Euro Kids, Gala Gymkhana Road, Bopal (20-Jodhpur)

• Kankids, Gala Gymkhana Road, Bopal (20-Jodhpur)

• New Age School, Opp. Memon Hall, Juhapura (34-Maktampura)

• Bachpan Play School, Classic Pvt. School, Juhapura (34-Maktampura)

• National School, Lal Plaza, Juhapura (34-Maktampura)

• Farooq-e-Azam School, Khadim Society, Juhapura (34-Maktampura)

• AT Tarbiyyah Islamic English School, Fatehwadi (33-Sarkhej)

• Gulshan-e-Meher School, T.P. 85, Sarkhej (33-Sarkhej)

• First Step Pre-School, Navi Fatehwadi, Azadnagar (33-Sarkhej)

• Fortune School / Arjuna School, Makarba Village (33-Sarkhej)

• Jamia School, Badar Plaza, Sarkhej (33-Sarkhej)

AMC officials further stated that the sealing drive will continue tomorrow to stop the operation of any additional educational units functioning without usage permission or those that have not regularized construction as mandated under GRUDA-2022. DeshGujarat
