One arrested for cow slaughter in rural Bharuch

Bharuch: In a swift midnight operation, Bharuch Taluka Police arrested one person involved in cow slaughter in Dahegam and launched a search for three others who fled the scene. The police also seized 330 kg of beef and rescued four animals from an illegal slaughter setup.

According to officials, Bharuch Taluka PI received a tip-off that cows were being tied and prepared for slaughter inside a buffalo stable beneath a residential house in Patalkuva falia, Dahegam. Acting immediately, a police team raided the location around midnight.

During the raid, officers found several cows in an open field adjacent to the house of the accused Munaf Musa Kala. Inside the premises, four men were allegedly slaughtering a cow using battery-torch light and cutting it into pieces with knives. As the police team advanced, three of the accused managed to escape, while one was caught on the spot.

The arrested individual, identified as Muhammad Asad Munaf Musa Kala, reportedly admitted to participating in the slaughter. Police recovered a mobile phone from him, along with 330 kg of beef, two large slaughter knives, three small knives, two sharpening tools, ropes, paddles, and other equipment used in the act.

The team also found two cows and two calves valued at ₹1.05 lakh, tied with the intention of slaughter. All four animals were rescued and shifted safely to Kajran Panjrapol.

Authorities destroyed the seized beef as per protocol. Based on the interrogation, the absconding accused were identified as Munaf Musa Kala, father of the arrested man, and two associates. Police have registered a case against all four individuals and declared the remaining three as wanted.

Efforts to track down and arrest the absconding accused are currently underway. DeshGujarat
