These are 18 key railway projects recently completed by Railway Ministry in Gujarat

New Delhi: During the ongoing winter session of the Parliament, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the Lok Sabha that 18 railway infrastructure projects in Gujarat have been completed under the Western and North Western Railway zones recently.

As per the minister, as of 1 April 2025, 36 railway projects, comprising 6 new lines, 17 gauge conversion projects, and 13 doubling/multitracking works, covering a total length of 2,564 km and costing ₹30,275 crore, have been sanctioned in the state. Of these, 863 km have been commissioned, with ₹12,865 crore spent till March 2025.

These projects were sanctioned considering factors such as traffic projections, last-mile connectivity, missing links, congestion relief, demands from state and central representatives, and socio-economic benefits.
