File Processing Jump in Industries Department: Gujarat Moves from 230 to 480 Daily, Aims for 700

Gandhinagar: Deputy Chief Minister and Industries Minister Harsh Sanghvi addressed an Industry Interaction Meet organised by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) here, where he emphasised that faster file processing has become a central pillar of Gujarat’s Ease of Doing Business reforms. He said the Industry Department has significantly accelerated its workflow and doubled the speed of file disposal, strengthening the state’s push toward the vision of Developed Gujarat @ 2047.

Speaking to industrialists and senior officials, Sanghvi explained that earlier around 230 files were processed daily in the department, while the current figure has risen to 480 files a day. The government has now set an ambitious target to achieve the disposal of 700 files daily.

He said that when investors bring large-scale capital into Gujarat, timely approvals are essential, and the government is committed to ensuring that applications and files are cleared without delay. According to him, this efficiency is vital for providing industries and investors with a real experience of simplified processes and smooth operations.

Sanghvi said that Gujarat’s industry has played a major role in making the state a national leader in industrial development, noting that industries generate employment for crores of people and contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth and GDP. He assured industrialists that the government stands firmly with them and intends to work shoulder to shoulder to ensure that Gujarat’s industrial progress continues without any hurdles.

He also outlined the long-term vision for the state, stating that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is advancing rapidly towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy. Gujarat, he said, is committed to contributing to the national aspiration of Developed India @ 2047 and has set a target of reaching a state economy of 3.5 trillion US dollars by the year 2047. To reach this goal, the government is focusing strongly on emerging and high-potential sectors including semiconductors, green hydrogen, renewable energy and green growth. He also mentioned the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences, which are aimed at unlocking fresh opportunities for investment and collaboration at the regional and grassroots levels.
