Further Dip in Night Temperatures Across Gujarat; Vadodara Shivers at 12°C

Ahmedabad: Minimum temperatures dropped further across several parts of Gujarat, signalling firm winter conditions. As per the weather report issued by the India Meteorological Department this morning, many districts recorded below-normal night temperatures, with Naliya remaining the coldest at 9.0°C, which is 3.6°C below normal.
In major cities, Ahmedabad recorded a minimum temperature of 13.4°C, a dip of 1.0°C below normal, while Vadodara reported 12.0°C, which is 3.2°C below normal. Rajkot also saw a significant drop with a minimum of 12.5°C, 3.1°C below normal. Coastal locations such as Porbandar (13.6°C) and Kandla (14.7°C) also stayed below normal by 2–2.6°C.
Surat recorded a minimum of 15.6°C, 1.5°C below normal, whereas Amreli reported a sharp fall to 11.4°C, which is 2.5°C below normal.
Maximum temperatures remained close to normal across the state, with most stations recording highs between 30°C and 33°C. No rainfall was reported from any station during the 24-hour period.
Humidity levels showed typical winter dryness in the evening, with places like Rajkot (26%), Porbandar (28%), and Ahmedabad (31%) recording low relative humidity at 17:30 IST.
Officials said the continuing drop in minimum temperatures is likely to persist over the next few days as cold winds from the north and northwest influence the region. DeshGujarat
