Gujarat targets solar rooftop systems on 10 lakh homes by 2027

Gandhinagar: Marking World Energy Conservation Day on Sunday, December 14, Gujarat’s Minister for Energy and Petrochemicals, Rushikesh Patel, said the state has set a target to install solar rooftop systems on 10 lakh homes by 2027.
In a video message, Patel said the PM Surya Ghar scheme is being strongly promoted by the government and will play a key role in reducing electricity expenses for households. He added that conserving energy should be a collective responsibility of all stakeholders.
Patel also noted that World Energy Conservation Day is observed globally on December 14 to highlight the environmental harm caused by electricity generation through conventional sources. DeshGujarat
