AUDA proposes new service road to ease SG Highway traffic
December 17, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) has put forward a proposal to develop a new service road running parallel to the Ring Road to reduce recurring traffic congestion near Vaishnodevi Circle on the SG Highway. The proposal will be incorporated into the Khodiyar Town Planning (TP) Scheme 60, which will be revised and forwarded to the state government for approval.
The decision was taken at AUDA’s 309th board meeting on Tuesday. The board also reviewed progress and consultations on several other TP schemes, including those in Sanand, Muthiya–Bilasiya–Enasan, Sarkhej–Okaf–Fatehwadi–Sanathal, Kathwada–Bhuwaldi–Singarva, Sanathal, and Mahemdavad, aimed at accelerating urban development with provisions for public amenities.
Additionally, AUDA revised its plot leasing policy, allowing open plots, excluding gardens, to be leased for one year without sub-leasing. Existing leases will end after their current term. DeshGujarat
