AMC marks 306 properties in 7-12 record for non-payment of property tax
December 18, 2025
Ahmedabad: The Property Tax Department of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC)’s East Zone has initiated strict measures against taxpayers who have failed to pay property tax on time, following a zero-tolerance policy.
During the current financial year, properties with outstanding property taxes have been recorded under the 7-12 revenue records by the Collector’s office to ensure accountability and prompt payment.
As part of this action:
-
A total of 306 properties with outstanding taxes amounting to ₹3.45 crore have been registered under the 7-12 records.
-
Additionally, encumbrances for Rs. 41.15 lakh have been registered on 69 more properties of defaulting taxpayers.
-
The process of registering encumbrances on a total of 118 properties is currently underway.
Following Diwali, 100 properties have been officially recorded in government records, ensuring that property transfer will be allowed only after clearing outstanding taxes.
The East Zone Property Tax Department has urged all defaulters to immediately pay their pending property taxes via messages sent to taxpayers. Looking ahead, the department has warned that non-compliance will lead to strict enforcement measures, including property sealing, disconnection of water and sewerage connections, recording of property under government records, property attachment, auction, and, if necessary, police complaints.
AMC appeals to all residential and non-residential property owners to promptly settle their outstanding property taxes to avoid enforcement action. DeshGujarat
