Anand civic body shut down Jalpari show over missing approvals
December 18, 2025
Anand: The much-anticipated Jalpari water festival, held along with a market on Rajpath Marg near APC Circle, was abruptly closed by the Anand Municipal Corporation on Wednesday due to missing approvals.
The event, organized on a private field, came under scrutiny when teams from the fire department, along with Anand’s Provincial Officer and the Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner, visited the site. They found that the organizers had not obtained essential permissions, including the mandatory Fire NOC and approvals for the entertainment event. Consequently, the Municipal Corporation issued an immediate closure notice, halting the festival.
Officials highlighted multiple violations at the site. Tents were erected in breach of Municipal Corporation regulations, fire safety equipment was absent, and only a single entry/exit gate was available, raising serious safety concerns. In addition, there were no arrangements for parking or maintaining cleanliness, resulting in unhygienic conditions.
The Municipal Corporation has reiterated that all organizers must strictly adhere to local regulations, obtain the required approvals, and ensure proper fire and safety measures before conducting any event in the city. DeshGujarat
