Minimum temperatures remain below 15°C in major Gujarat cities

Ahmedabad: Minimum temperatures across Gujarat showed mixed departures from normal last night, with most places recording mercury below 15°C, according to the weather report issued this morning by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Among the major cities, Ahmedabad recorded a minimum temperature of 14.8°C, which was 1.2°C above normal, indicating a slightly warmer night. Gandhinagar also reported a higher-than-normal minimum of 14.6°C, departing 2.9°C above average.
Several stations in Saurashtra experienced near-normal to below-normal night temperatures. Amreli recorded a minimum of 12.0°C, which was 0.7°C below normal, making it one of the cooler locations in the state. Bhavnagar registered 14.6°C (0.5°C below normal), while Porbandar and Diu recorded 14.0°C and 13.0°C, both significantly below normal by 1.8°C and 1.3°C, respectively.
In south Gujarat, Surat reported a minimum temperature of 14.8°C, which was 1.8°C below normal, indicating a marginal dip in night temperatures. Baroda, in central Gujarat, also saw a cooler-than-usual night at 13.2°C, 0.8°C below normal.
Contrastingly, parts of Kutch witnessed warmer nights. Bhuj recorded a minimum temperature of 17.9°C, a substantial 5.5°C above normal. Kandla also remained warmer with a minimum of 16.5°C, about 1°C above normal.
Rajkot recorded a minimum temperature of 15.5°C, marginally 1.4°C above normal, while Veraval saw 16.9°C, slightly 0.5°C below normal. Dwarka and Okha reported relatively high minimum temperatures of 19.0°C each.
No rainfall was reported at any station across Gujarat during the past 24 hours. Meteorological officials said dry weather conditions continue to prevail, with night temperatures expected to remain stable to slightly fluctuate over the next 24 hours. DeshGujarat
