Gandhinagar: The state of Gujarat witnessed a drop in night-time temperatures last night, with the mercury dipping across major cities such as Ahmedabad, Baroda and Rajkot compared to a day earlier.

As per the India Meteorological Department’s weather report issued this morning, after a fall from the previous day, Ahmedabad recorded a minimum temperature of 15.5°C, which was still 2.5°C above normal, while Gandhinagar logged 15.0°C, also significantly above normal by 3.5°C.

Rajkot reported a minimum of 13.8°C, slightly above normal, whereas Baroda was the coldest among the major cities of the state, recording a cooler-than-normal night at 12.6°C.

Meanwhile, Amreli was the coldest place in the state, with the minimum temperature dropping to 12.0°C. In Kutch, Bhuj logged a minimum of 14.9°C, which was 3.0°C above normal, while Naliya recorded 14.6°C, also notably above normal.

Coastal stations continued to remain warmer. Okha recorded the highest minimum temperature in the state at 21.2°C, followed by Veraval (18.3°C), Surat (18.2°C), Dwarka (18.0°C) and Kandla (17.5°C), all above their respective normal levels.

Relative humidity levels at 0830 IST remained high in several regions, particularly in Kutch and the coastal belt, indicating mild winter conditions across much of Gujarat. DeshGujarat
