Junagadh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually address players participating in the “Sansad Khel Mahotsav” finals and the youth of the country during the concluding programme to be held in Junagadh on December 25.

The Sansad Khel Mahotsav began on December 14, 2025, with the opening ceremony held at the Sardar Patel Sports Complex in Porbandar and will culminate with the Finale and closing ceremony at the District Level Sports Complex, Sardar Patel Sports Complex, Junagadh. The finale will be held in the presence of Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, who will encourage the players, honour the winners and interact with participants.

The Porbandar Lok Sabha constituency, comprising Porbandar, Rajkot and Junagadh districts, is hosting the event in three phases. The first phase was organised at the district level in Porbandar, followed by taluka- and assembly-level competitions in Rajkot district. The final phase, the MP Finale, is being held in Junagadh district.

During the Finale, competitions in seven traditional sports will be conducted among winning players and teams from seven assembly segments across four age groups. Around 1,800 players are expected to compete in the finals. Former and current Olympic-level athletes will also remain present at the District Level Sports Complex during the event.

Sansad Khel Mahotsav aims to boost sports activities in both rural and urban areas and inspire young athletes to excel at national and international platforms, including the Commonwealth Games 2030 and the Olympic Games 2036.

The district administration and Junagadh Municipal Corporation have appealed to citizens of Junagadh district and the city to attend the finale on December 25 and witness the sporting events.

Held under the theme “Fit Yuva for Viksit Bharat – Yuva Shakti Ka Utsav, Sansad Khel Mahotsav,” the festival features Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Yoga, Tug of War, Shooting Volleyball, Freestyle Wrestling, Athletics and Six-a-Side Tennis Cricket. Competitions are being organised across Under-17, Above-17, Above-40 and Open Age categories.

The Sansad Finale will begin at 7 am on December 25 at Sardar Patel Khel Sankul, Gandhigram, Junagadh. The assembly securing the highest number of points will be declared the champion, and winning players will be honoured with trophies and medals, in the presence of eminent international-level players.
