ACB Gujarat nabs female FDCA staffer in bribe case

Himmatnagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today, in a trap operation, nabbed a contractual computer operator of the Food and Drugs Control Administration while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹4,500 from a citizen.

According to ACB officials, the complainant had approached the FDCA office at Bahumali Bhavan, Himmatnagar, to obtain a licence for operating an egg stall. During the process, the accused, identified as Mamta Kumari, daughter of Vaksibhai Kharadi, aged 40, working as a contract-based computer operator, allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹4,500 in exchange for facilitating the licence.

Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant contacted the ACB and lodged a formal complaint. Acting on the information, the ACB team organised a trap. During the trap operation conducted at the office of the Assistant Commissioner, Food and Drug Regulatory Authority, Bahumali Bhavan, Himmatnagar, the accused allegedly accepted the bribe amount of ₹4,500.
