Now check school fees online; Gujarat FRC publishes fees of 5,780 private schools on website
December 29, 2025
Ahmedabad: In a move to bring transparency in fee collection by private schools, the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) of the state has published the fee structure of 5,780 private schools on its official website, frcgujarat.org. This ensures that private schools can no longer hide fees fixed by the FRC, allowing parents and students to access accurate information online.
Earlier, many schools used to collect additional fees from parents by hiding the fixed fee orders issued by the FRC, including charges under admission or term fees. The practice often left parents unaware of the actual fees fixed for their children.
According to the FRC, the fees of 2,310 private schools in Ahmedabad city and 394 schools in rural areas have now been uploaded on the website. The fees are displayed based on standard, medium, and affiliated board, enabling parents to check details specific to their child’s school.
How to check fees online
Parents can easily access the fee details by visiting frcgujarat.org.
-
They can search the name of the school in the search bar.
-
Or, go to the “Approved Fee” section and, by selecting the district, municipality, board, medium, and school name, the official fee order will be displayed, showing the standard- and year-wise fee structure.
The FRC has urged parents to report any school charging more than the fixed fee to the education department, ensuring strict enforcement and accountability.
This step is expected to bring greater transparency in private school fee collection and protect parents from being overcharged.
The government implemented the Fee Determination Act in 2017 to prevent private schools from overcharging parents. Following a recent Supreme Court verdict, schools are now prohibited from collecting any amount exceeding the fees fixed by the FRC. Earlier, some FRC orders allowed schools to collect admission and term fees, but the latest framework removes this provision, making it mandatory for schools to adhere strictly to the published fee structure.
