Stray cattle menace: Two injured as cow goes on rampage in Vadodara
December 29, 2025
Vadodara: The menace of stray cattle continues to trouble city residents, with yet another incident reported from Khodiyarnagar on Sunday. A stray cow went on a rampage near Pancham Elite Flats at the Khodiyarnagar crossroads, charging towards two men on a motorcycle and attacking them with its head and horns. The impact caused the riders to fall, leaving one of them seriously injured.
Eyewitnesses said the cow also damaged nearby vehicles and continued to behave aggressively, triggering panic in the area. Locals rushed to rescue the injured men and immediately informed the 108 emergency service. The seriously injured victim was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Residents said repeated complaints about stray cattle have yielded no meaningful action, and expressed anger against the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) for failing to control the problem. They alleged that despite frequent incidents, some even proving fatal in the past, stray cattle continue to roam freely on city roads.
Social worker Atul Gamechi alleged that despite substantial expenditure every year, the civic body has been unable to bring the stray cattle menace under control. DeshGujarat
