Congress MLA Kirit Patel threatens to resign as party’s Chief Whip in Gujarat Assembly
December 30, 2025
Patan: The Gujarat Congress may face another setback as Patan MLA Kirit Patel has expressed strong displeasure over the internal functioning of the party and warned that he may resign from the position of the party’s Chief Whip in the Gujarat Assembly if his concerns are not addressed.
Patel has alleged that loyal and dedicated Congress workers are being ignored, while no action is being taken against those involved in anti-party activities. Issuing a warning, he said that if his demands are not accepted by 3 pm today, he will submit his resignation.
His displeasure is said to have intensified following recent appointments in the Patan District Congress, including the selection of the Scheduled Caste Morcha president and district executive members. Patel has claimed that genuine grassroots workers are being sidelined and the party is failing to act against those weakening it from within. DeshGujarat
