Gujarat ends year with not-so-cold nights as minimum temperatures stay above normal

Gandhinagar: Gujarat witnessed generally mild to warm daytime conditions with cooler-than-usual nights at several places, according to the morning weather observations reported by the India Meteorological Department. No significant rainfall was recorded across the state, with only trace rainfall at Porbandar, as opposed to the prediction of rain in Kutch.
Daytime Temperatures
Day temperatures on December 30 hovered near to slightly above normal across most regions. Ahmedabad witnessed a daytime temperature of 29.6°C, while Baroda recorded 30.6°C.
Dangs recorded the highest maximum temperature at 32.6°C, followed by Daman (31.2°C), Surat (30.7°C), Baroda (30.6°C) and Rajkot (30.3°C). Coastal and Saurashtra stations such as Veraval, Porbandar, Dwarka and Diu also reported maximum temperatures close to 29–30°C.
In contrast, Gandhinagar stood out with a below-normal maximum of 26.5°C, about 2°C lower than usual, indicating relatively cooler daytime conditions in the central region.
Night Temperatures
The nights were again not so cool, as Ahmedabad witnessed 15.3°C, which was 3.1°C above normal, while Baroda was 2.4°C above normal at 15.4°C.
Minimum temperatures were above normal at most stations, suggesting milder nights. Okha (20.7°C) and Dwarka (20.5°C) recorded the highest night temperatures, while Bhuj, Naliya and Deesa showed notable positive departures, with minimums 4–6°C above normal.
The lowest minimum temperature was reported at Gandhinagar (13.0°C), followed by Amreli (13.8°C) and Deesa (14.4°C).
Humidity and Rainfall
Morning relative humidity remained high across the state, ranging from 66% in Gandhinagar to around 90% at Kandla, indicating moist conditions, especially along coastal belts. Evening humidity levels on December 30 dropped to moderate values at most locations.
No rainfall was recorded anywhere in Gujarat, except for a trace at Porbandar. DeshGujarat
