Gandhinagar: Amid forecast of unseasonal rains in parts of the State, many parts of the city of Ahmedabad received nonseasonal showers late in the evening on the  last day of the year. Various areas of the city experienced a round of light shower around 10 pm on 31st December. Earlier in the day, various talukas including Rajkot, Dwarka, Porbandar, Vav and Rapar also recorded light rains.

According to India Metereological Department (IMD), the weather department of the Central government, Light rain are very likely at isolated places in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Patan and Sabarkantha; at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Jamnagar, Morbi,
Dwarka, Porbandar and Kutch on 1st January and early portion of 2nd January as well.  DeshGujarat
