Ahmedabad: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Saturday attended a special presentation of the mega musical play Rajadhiraj, based on the life and divine leelas of Lord Krishna, at the AUDA Auditorium.

The special show was also attended by Energy Minister Rushikesh Patel; Minister of State for Urban Development Darshanaben Vaghela; Minister of State for Labour and Employment Kantibhai Amrutia; Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani; and several former ministers. The dignitaries lauded the performance and described it as a spiritually enriching and culturally uplifting experience.

The musical drama presents the life and teachings of Lord Krishna in a compelling manner, conveying the essence of karma and dharma. It blends modern technology with traditional music to vividly highlight Gujarat’s rich cultural heritage.

Originally launched in Mumbai, the production is now touring multiple states, including Gujarat, as part of the ‘Rajadhiraj Yatra’. The musical drama has been written by renowned lyricist Prasoon Joshi and is conceived as a fusion of devotion, art, and culture.

The production brings alive Lord Krishna’s spiritual journey from Vraj to Mewar and from Mathura to Dwarka. Directed by Shruti Sharma, the play depicts various forms of Shri Krishna—from Gokul’s playful Kanuda to Dwarkadhish and Shrinathji—with dignity and grandeur. The musical has been produced by Bhoomi Nathwani and Dhanraj Nathwani.

The play features 20 live songs composed by the celebrated duo Sachin-Jigar, blending Haveli sangeet with Gujarati and Rajasthani folk music, alongside Western symphonic elements. The grand sets have been designed by Omung Kumar, while ace designer Neeta Lulla has created over 1,800 costumes for the performers. Based on research by Ram Mori, the musical composition has been curated by Parthiv Gohil and Viral Rachchh.

Senior state government officials, including Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Das, along with other top bureaucrats and public representatives, were also present at the event. DeshGujarat
