FRC rejects St Xavier’s Loyola Hall’s plea for higher fees; orders refund of ₹2 crore
January 09, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Fee Revision Committee (FRC) has rejected a plea by city-based St Xavier’s Loyola Hall to levy higher fees, upholding the Ahmedabad Zone Fee Committee’s decision for the 2024–25 academic year.
The school had challenged the zone committee’s refusal to approve its proposed annual fee of ₹39,359 for the primary section. Instead, the committee had sanctioned a fee of ₹26,250 per year, a decision that was later affirmed by the FRC.
Officials said that as the school had already begun collecting the higher amount, the FRC issued a notice directing it to refund the excess fees to parents. During the pendency of the case, the institution had been instructed to keep the approximately ₹2 crore collected in excess as a fixed deposit.
With the FRC now confirming the lower fee structure, the school has been ordered to return the surplus amount within a fortnight. DeshGujarat
